Cold Wheather go Away

I was finally able to get the medication for Zoey on Monday. It's liquide Cimetidine. This makes it so much easier to give to her. So hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll see an improvement in her.

This cold weather has not made it easy to ride. It has gotten a little warmer the past couple of days.

I'm still trying to work on acquiring more students. It is slow due to the cold weather. By March it should be better with more people coming out of the wood work. LOL.

Another cold day

It was just way too cold to ride today. Horses can function and exercise in much colder weather than we can. Because of the throat being so long the air warms up before it reaches the lungs. Where as with people exercising in very cold weather can effect the lungs and breathing causing damage.

All I did today was turn Zoey out in the arena to let her stretch her legs. She ran around a bit and that was all. There was no turnout for the horses outside because if they were the pipes would have froze in the barn.

Tomorrow is another day.

Ride 101

Today my ride with Zoey was just to keep her going forward. Until the ulcer medication comes in this is all I'm working on. So before the ride I douse her with the Pepto Bismol. She still thought about stopping and bucking but I did everything to keep her going.

Even though I did get her going forward I could still feel the she was uncomfortable. I haven't attempted to canter because it is during the transition that she really gets upset.

I feel bad for sore tummy, but I don't want to end up with a major training issue.

Hopefully I'll have the meds by Monday.
